Am I eligible for First Cover?
Mercedes‑Benz Van First Cover is only available for use by customers buying or leasing a new or used Mercedes‑Benz van from a Mercedes‑Benz Dealer and should be put in place to be started on the day you take delivery of your van. Before applying for your complimentary cover, we need to make sure you’re eligible. Please make sure you read the following carefully and that you meet all the eligibility criteria below. You should not take out First Cover for your new Mercedes‑Benz if you already have alternative insurance cover in place.
Drivers
- Age: 19-74
- UK residents only
- Full UK licence or Full EU licence
- No driver has more than three at-fault claims in the last three years
- No driver has serious recent motor convictions
- For private cover – you or your spouse, partner or civil partner must be the main driver
- For company owned vans or policies taken out for companies – the main driver must be a company director authorised to act on behalf of the company
- For policies in the name of a society or trust – the main driver must be a trustee with authority to act on behalf of the trust
Vehicle and usage
- Maximum vehicle age: 25 years
- Maximum vehicle value: £70,000
- Maximum number of seats: 6
- Maximum vehicle weight: 7.5 tonne
- Social, Domestic and Pleasure (SDP), Social, Domestic, Pleasure and Commuting (SDP&C)
- Carriage of Own Goods, Hire and Reward/Haulage – excluding multi-drop occupations and Couriers
- The vehicle has not been modified or altered in any way since it was supplied by the vehicle Manufacturer/Dealer (including wheels, suspension, bodywork and engine) – please note that optional extras fitted by the Manufacturer/Dealer as well as racking and sign-writing are not considered to be a modification
